EXCLUSIVE interview With Claire Sulmers International Blogger
So it was this time of year again with London Fashion Week kicking off to a fabulous start. With Fashion Week comes the celebrities, designers, and bloggers so who did NEW WAVE DISTRICT bump into? None other than international blogger and style queen Claire Sulmers. Her much acclaimed Blog ‘The Fashion Bomb Daily’ explores the cultural essence of fashion with posts covering all areas of fashion, beauty and designers.
When waking around London’s Somerset house (which was a main hub of savvy stylista’s) we had seen many a sight that would only come with London Fashion Week. From people flaunting their bold and daring outfits to Harajuku girls waiting outside TOPSHOPS NewGen exhibition we spotted Clare being papped by many an eager photographers so we took our chance.
Looking slick and daring in a beautifully cut Black dress and killer stilettos her look suited the glamorous backdrop of this London location. When asking her about her career and successes Clare Sulmers was more than happy to answer our questions, on starting out in 2006 she explained how ‘The Fashion Bomb Daily’ was born.
“Well to be honest I was just board at work and started putting my findings online, I enjoyed it and it just took off from there. Eventually it got bigger and bigger and seven years later here we are.” The glamorous American had her assistants with her to help aide with all the attention she was getting.
When I asked her assistant why she wanted to get involved with Sulmers at London Fashion week she was full of praise for the journalist and her work “I always found such inspiration from Claire’s blog to replicate with my own style, from checking it daily it really spurred on my own interests. When I saw that Clare was coming here for London Fashion Week I took the opportunity to be her assistant, one quick email and here I am just to help her out for the day, I’ve seen some amazing things.”
Sulmers had been too many shows that day some at Fashion Scout which housed many new and fresh talent like Nova Chiu, Bernard Chandran and Yifan Wan and some at the more exclusive Locations which showed Alexander McQueen and Burberry.
“We have seen some gorgeous things, I really liked Burberry’s collection this season it was such a personal favourite of mine,. They showed alongside Tom Ford and Erdem. There were so many fresh looks which I will definitely be interested in.”
Sulmers said as she posed in a big furry coat for another of the many photographers that were flocking towards her. She then added when asked about what’s in store for her next “For the future I have a lot on and many events to report on so keep checking the blog for all the latest exclusive news. I’ll be attending Paris and then Milan for their Fashion Week so I’ll be super busy”
